Testing Your Own Models

The Google Earth plugin requires that KML and KML files be loaded from public facing web servers. You can test your
model on ShapeFresno by opening "Add KML/KMZ From URL" then entering the URL to your model. Clicking on
the magnifiying glass icon will add your model. You can add as many models as you like but it's a good idea to link
several models with a Network Link (master KML file) and load that file instead. Information regarding KML and Network Links
can be found in this KML Tutorial.

Clicking on the "x" icon will remove the models in reverse order.

Firefox Issues

There is a known issue with Firefox freezing while handling various plugins.

The following method often resolves this issue.

1. Go to the address box and type about:config then hit enter.

2. Scroll down to dom.ipc.plugins.enabled

3. If the value field is set to 'true', double click the entry so that the value changes to 'false'.

4. Close Firefox and restart it.

Note: This will prevent the map window from automatically resizing. Refreshing the page after resizing the browser will restore the map window to the correct size.
